Aphasia Field Guide

Coming JANUARY 2023

Learn the tools to create a blueprint of your loved one's aphasia and learn methods for communication & advocacy to navigate your journey with aphasia.   Understanding how your loved one thinks and communicates, you’ll gain confidence, reduce frustration, and have a clear path forward to living with intention and gratitude.

More than 40 years of combined experience treating persons with chronic aphasia led us to develop the Aphasia Field Guide.  We recognize the pressure, dependence, and stress placed on you in your new role as a caregiver.  This course is for you, the caregiver, and advocate for your person with aphasia.  Our goal is to help you understand the brain, and how language is processed. We want to provide you the knowledge and support you need to care for your loved one and maximize communication.

Communication Partner Training

COMING SOON

Communication Partner Training is an evidenced-based practice which focuses on indirect treatment by educating communication partners how to best support their loved one in conversation and communication.  This course will dive deeper into the nuances of communication with stories, examples, and best practices for communicating with your loved one for their specific needs.

Training is designed for spouses, family members, caregivers and interested persons that want to support conversation and interaction for a person with aphasia in practical, day-to-day situations. You'll finish the course with tasks and information you can apply right away.

This is a stand-alone course but greater understanding and application will be gained by having taken the Aphasia Field Guide Course first.

Aphasia Coach University

COMING SOON

Aphasia Coach University is for spouses + caregivers who are ready and willing to provide smart, intensive practice with guidance from specialists in chronic aphasia  Learn how to provide mindful, intensive, neuroplastic daily practice with your loved one in your home.  These daily practices will be tailored so you can have the best practice for your person.

Research demonstrates that intensive, smart, and consistent practice at home improves communication exponentially.  Our goal is to give you the information you need to start practicing with your loved one that is tailored to their specific type of aphasia to best help them.
